Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire in Belvedere Road, Bexleyheath.
Part of the first floor of the semi-detached property was damaged by fire.
Crew Manager Winn Slade, who was at the scene, said: “When we arrived, there was quite a lot of smoke coming from the property but thankfully there was nobody inside at the time. Firefighters worked hard to quickly bring the fire under control and stopped it from spreading to neighbouring properties.”
The Brigade was called at 0212 and the fire was under control at 0312. Fire crews from Bexley and Plumstead fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
