Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats in Corker Walk, Islington on July 5.
A small part of a ground floor flat was damaged by fire but the fire was out when firefighters arrived. Sadly one woman later died in hospital.
The Brigade was called at 0253 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0330. Fire crews from Holloway and Islington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service.
