Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been called to a fire in a garden lean-to shed on Nadine Street in Charlton.
The lean-to shed and a garden fence were destroyed by the fire. Part of a ground floor kitchen and part of a first floor of a two-storey terraced house were also damaged in the blaze.
Fire crews removed one propane cylinder, as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
Seven people left the property before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade was called at 1518 and was under control by 1645. Fire crews from East Greenwich, Greenwich and Plumstead fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
