Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a block of flats in Saint Philips Road, Hackney.
The small fire was in the communal area on the second floor. Three people were led to safety by crews wearing breathing apparatus. One woman and one child were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 11 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 2041 and the fire was under control at 2108. Fire crews from Homerton and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the scene.
