Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire in Queenstown Road, Battersea.
Three balconies were destroyed in the fire and part of a sixth floor was damaged by the fire. Around 150 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1201 and the fire was under control at 1342. Fire crews from Chelsea, Battersea, Lambeth, Clapham, Brixton and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
