Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers were called to a garage fire in Craigmuir Park, Wembley.
A garage was completely destroyed by the fire and part of a garage to the rear of a neighbouring property was also damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
One oxyacetylene cylinder was cooled to an ambient temperature as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
Watch Manager Pete Clark, who was at the scene, said: "The row of garages were close to terraced houses and crews worked hard to stop the fire spreading to the houses."
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 11 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 2257 and the fire was under control at 0122. Fire crews from Wembley fire station attended the scene.
