Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a house in Wittenham Way in Chingford.
The first floor of the property was destroyed by fire. One person left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s 999 control officers took 19 calls to the fire.
Watch manager Adam Wells, who was at the scene, said: “Crews were faced with a fully developed fire when they arrived at the scene and flames were coming from the front window of the property.
“Firefighters worked extremely hard in difficult conditions to bring the fire under control quickly and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring properties.”
The Brigade was called at 2134 and the fire was under control at 2227. Fire crews from Chingford, Woodford, Walthamstow and Enfield fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
