Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two people from a fire on Kilburn High Road this evening.
Both were treated on the scene by London Ambulance service for smoke inhalation.
Around 60 firefighters and officers tackled the fire which was in a building comprising of a shop with flats above it.
A section of the basement and the first floor was damaged in the fire.
The fire caused significant disruption along Kilburn High Road, a section of the road between Willesden Lane and Quex Road was closed for some time.
8 fire engines from stations including Paddington, West Hampstead and North Kensington fire stations were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1715 and the fire was under control at 1930.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
