Around twenty people evacuated after a fire broke out in a flat on Charlbert Street in St John’s Wood on Friday night. A five-roomed flat on the third floor of the five storey building was badly damaged by fire. No injuries were reported.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers attended the incident. Fire engines came from Paddington, Euston, West Hampstead and Kentish Town fire stations.
The Brigade was called at 2105 and the fire was under control by 2222. Fire investigators believe an unbranded mobile phone charger caused the fire.
