Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a range of garages in Hounslow Road, Hanworth.
A garage was destroyed by fire. A van parked nearby was damaged in the blaze. Watch Manager Steve McGhie said: "When we arrived, the flames were as high as houses. The residents were really helpful and allowed us to run a hose through a house, meaning we could bring the blaze under control as quickly as possible and stop it from spreading.”
The Brigade was called at 2303 and the fire was under control at 0012. Fire crews from Richmond, Heston, and Twickenham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
