The whole of the fourth floor and half of the fifth floor was damaged by fire. The elderly woman was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus via an internal staircase. She was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The cause of the fire is believed to be sunlight reflecting off of a make-up mirror.

The Brigade was called at 1759 and the fire was under control by 1912.
