Around 60 firefighters tackled a fire at a bus depot on Farnborough Hill in Orpington this morning.

At the height of the blaze, eleven buses were alight and Brigade control officers took around 40 calls to the incident which was very visible.

Crews worked hard to stop the blaze from spreading to more buses and around 30 vehicles were moved to safety.

Seven buses were completely destroyed by the fire and a further four were badly damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.

Eight fire engines attended from stations including Orpington, Biggin Hill, Sidcup and Bromley fire stations.

The Brigade was called at 0336 and the fire was under control at 0631.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
