Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a offices converted into a church in Woolwich New Road, Woolwich. 

Half of the second floor was damaged by fire. 

The Brigade was called at 2216 (April 17) and the fire was under control at 0022 (April 18). Fire crews from Plumstead, East Greenwich, Eltham and Erith fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
