Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of maisonettes in Prince Regent Lane in Plaistow.
A maisonette on the second and third floor was damaged by fire. Part of the guttering on the third floor was also damaged in the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 0915 and the fire was under control at 1103. Fire crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Poplar, Stratford and Barking fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
