Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire in a derelict shop last night on Old Church Road in Chingford.
Firefighters tackled the blaze, which damaged part of the ground floor, first floor and roof, using one of our drones and an aerial appliance - so they could tackle the fire from above. Drones allow firefighters to see areas of the fire, which are not visible from the ground.
Crews remained at the scene overnight to dampen down the area.
The Brigade was called at 1803 and the fire was under control by 2018, crews from Chingford, Woodford, Walthamstow and Edmondton attended the scene. The cause of the fire will be investigated.
