Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a care home on Deancross Street in Shadwell.
A small part of a communal hallway on the second floor was damaged by the fire. Four people left the property before the Brigade arrived. They were treated for smoke inhalation on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1808 and the fire was under control by 1852. Fire crews from Shadwell, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green and Shoreditch fire stations attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
