Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a large pile of rubbish alight on Folly Lane in Chingford.
Approximately five tonnes of rubbish was on fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1710 and the fire was under control by 1839. Fire crews from Walthamstow, Chingford and Edmonton fire stations attended.
