Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters dealt with a house fire on Kings Avenue in Clapham South. Part of the first and second was damaged by the blaze.
Three women and a man left the property before the Brigade arrived.
Clapham Watch Manager David Penfold said;
“Firefighters searched the flat and rescued a white cat. Crews worked extremely hard and prevented the fire from spreading to the roof.”
The Brigade was called at 0216 and the fire was under control by 0500. Fire crews from Clapham, Brixton, Tooting and West Norwood fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
