Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called a fire at a flat in Guinness Square in Greenwich.
Part of a first floor flat was damaged by fire.
A woman and child left the property before the arrival of the Brigade and were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1620 and the fire was under control by 1824. Fire crews from Old Kent Road and Dockhead fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
