Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of maisonettes on Beulah Hill in Upper Norwood.
The balcony of a four roomed maisonette on the second and third floor was partly damaged by fire. Crews cooled one propane cylinder to an ambient temperature as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. There were no reported injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0558 and the fire was under control by 0641. Fire crews from West Norwood, Woodside and Norbury fire stations attended the scene.
