Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to reports of smoke at a house converted into flats on Lower Addiscombe Road in Croydon.
A hallway was logged with smoke but there was no fire damage. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led a woman and two children to safety. There were no reported injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1308 and the fire was under control by 1336. Fire crews from Croydon and Woodside fire stations attended the scene.
