Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a first floor flat in Penfold Street, Marylebone.
Firefighters rescued one man, who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. Part of the three-roomed flat was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0647 and the fire was under control by 0739. Crews from Paddington, Euston, and Kensington fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
