Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Hooks Close in Peckham.
Part of the ground floor and the stairs were damaged by the fire. Two adults and five children left the property before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1719 and the fire was under control by 1824. Fire crews from New Cross, Peckham, Old Kent Road and Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been an electrical fault.
