Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on Howard Road in Penge.
Part of the bedroom on the first floor was damaged by the fire. Half of the flat was also damaged by smoke.
The Brigade was called at 1146 and the fire was under control by 1243. Fire crews from Beckenham, Forest Hill, Bromley and West Norwood fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
