Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a terraced house on Bloomhall Road in Crystal Palace.
The whole of the ground floor of the property was damaged by the blaze. The fire also damaged part of the first floor was damaged by the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1820 and the fire was under control by 1919. Fire crews from West Norwood and Norbury fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
