Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house converted into flats in Algiers Road in Ladywell.
Part of a flat on the first floor was damaged by fire. One person left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. A further 15 people left surrounding properties as a precaution. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0622 and the fire was under control at 0724. Fire crews from Lewisham, Greenwich, Lee Green and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
