Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at an industrial estate on Thames Road in Crayford.
Around 20 tonnes of mixed waste was alight, which produced heavy smoke. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took nine calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 2055 and the fire was under control by 2240. Fire crews from Erith and Sidcup along with crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
