Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire in a car park at a block of flats on John Harrison Way in Greenwich.
Part of the first floor car park was damaged by fire and two cars were destroyed by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "The fire was discovered by a resident who called 999 after they smelt burning and saw smoke coming from the car park.
"Around 130 people safely left the building before the Brigade arrived."
The Brigade was called at 2128 and the fire was under control by 2228. Fire crews from East Greenwich, Greenwich and Deptford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
