Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire in a pub on Gladstone Street in Elephant and Castle.

The fire damaged part of a kitchen conversion that was located on the first floor of the three storey property. There were no reports of any injuries.

The fire is believed to have been caused accidentally by heat from an oven burning the wood surrounding the appliance.
