Firefighters rescued a dog from a fire at a house on Bricklayers Street in Kennington.
Most of a bedroom on the first floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. One woman left the building before the Brigade arrived and was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a dog from the house. After administering first aid, the dog was reunited with their owner and was taken to a vet to be checked over.”
The Brigade was called at 1959 and the fire was under control by 2056. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Lambeth and Dowgate fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
