Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with dwellings above on Shelton Street in Covent Garden.
A small part of a doorway between two shops that led to flats above, was damaged by fire. No injuries are reported.
The Brigade was called at 2312 and the incident was under control by 0000. Fire crews from Soho, Euston, Dowgate and Lambeth fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire was investigated by the Brigade’s fire investigation team and the Met police and is believed to be deliberate.
