Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a range of single storey workshops on Lambs Lane North, Rainham.
One unit and the roof of the workshop were destroyed by the fire. The alarm was raised when a resident of a property overlooking the workshops saw smoke coming from the roof of the warehouse. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade were called at 2005 and the fire was under control by 2138. Fire crews from Harold Hill, Dagenham, Hornchurch, Barking, East Ham and Ilford fire stations attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
