Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a blaze in a building which housed a shop with flats above, which was under refurbishment, in Uxbridge Road, Ealing.
Part of the second floor of the building was damaged by fire. Ten people were evacuated from surrounding properties as a precautionary measure. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0339 and the fire was under control by 0650. Fire crews from Ealing, Southall and Acton fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
