The seagull was in a lot of distress and had its wing trapped in the spikes on the chimney. We used bolt croppers to cut the spikes from the bird’s wing, before handing it over to a people from London Wildlife Protection.

“We were happy to help on this occasion, and will always be there in an emergency, especially if a person is likely to put themselves at risk to save an animal. However, we would always urge people to contact the RSPCA if they see an animal stuck or in distress.”

The Brigade was called at 1007 and the incident was over for firefighters at 1121. Fire crews from Kentish Town and Soho fire stations attended the incident.
