A man has sadly died in hospital following a fire at a sheltered accommodation flat on Gervase Street in Southwark.
Fire crews found the man in the second floor flat and he was taken to hospital by Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0033 (Wednesday, 29 July) and the incident was over for firefighters by 0148. Fire crews from Old Kent Road and New Cross fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
