Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire in a basement at a water pumping station on Achilles Way in Mayfair.

Part of an electrical switch room was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1043 and the fire was under control by 1300. Fire crews from Soho, Chelsea and Lambeth fire stations attended the scene. 

The Brigade's Fire Investigators believe the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical fault.
