Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Sinclair Road in Chingford.
Part of the ground and first floors of an end-of-terrace hour were damaged by fire and the staircase between the ground and first floors was destroyed by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0710 and the fire was under control by 0936. Fire crews from Chingford, Walthamstow, Edmonton and Woodford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
