Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on St Olave's Road in East Ham.
Most of the roof of a mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2218 and the fire was under control by 2311. Fire crews from East Ham, Plaistow, Barking, Stratford and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
