Firefighters were called by police to attend an end-of-terraced house on Anglesea Road in Orpington.
It appears there had been a fire in the property previously but it was out when crews arrived. Sadly, a woman was found dead at the scene. The body of a dog was also found.
The Brigade was called at 1212 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1411. One fire engine from Orpington Fire Station attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
