Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Hanworth Road in Hampton.
Part of the first floor and roof of a detached house were damaged by the fire. One man left the property before the Brigade arrived. He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1007 and the fire was under control by 1121. Fire crews from Twickenham, Feltham and Heston fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
