The body of a man has been found underneath debris at the scene of a fire and explosion in Stratford.
Firefighters were called at 0751 to the property on Waddington Street. It is believed that there was an explosion in a first floor flat which caused structural damaged to the building of two floors.
Fire crews searched the property and found the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
Around 13 people left the building before firefighters arrived. The incident has been handed over to the police and fire crews will remain on the scene assisting them with their operation.
