Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters dealt with a flat fire on Brunswick Road in Sutton.
Part of the ground floor flat was damaged by the blaze. Six people left the block before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1344 and the fire was under control by 1440. Fire engines from Sutton, Mitcham, Wallington and Wimbledon fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
