Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire on a balcony on Pond Farm Estate in Hackney.
Firefighters tackled a fire on the balcony of a first floor flat within a three-storey building. The balcony was completely destroyed by the fire, as well as part of the flat. A balcony on the second floor was also damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's Control Office received nine calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1502 and the fire was under control by 1616. Fire crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington and Bethnal Green fire stations are at the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
