Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Palmerston Road in Croydon.
A conservatory was destroyed by a fire in a two-storey house.
Two men left the house before the arrival of the Brigade and were treated at the scene by crews from the London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 18 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade's Fire Investigation Team believe the cause of the fire is due to a faulty tumble dryer.
The Brigade was called at 1741 and the fire was under control by 1846. Fire crews from Croydon and Norbury fire stations were at the scene.
