Firefighters led a woman to safety from a small fire in a flat on Archer Road in South Norwood.
A candle fell over in the kitchen and caused minimal damage. The occupant was brought out by crews from a bedroom and she was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Woodside, Beckenham and West Norwood fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 0020 and the fire was under control by 0057.
