Firefighters rescued a cat from a rooftop ledge on Chiswick High Road in Chiswick.
The cat, named Elvis, had fallen off of the roof onto a ledge 30 feet up in the air. Despite being ‘All Shook Up’, crews safely returned Elvis to his owner.
Sub Officer Matthew Howarth, who was at the scene, said: “The cat had been missing for a few days and was spotted by a neighbour on a narrow ledge 30 feet in the air with no way to get down.
“Crews used a turntable ladder and managed to safely get Elvis down from the building and return him to his owner. He was frightened but thankfully, he wasn’t hurt.
“We would always encourage people to call the RSPCA in the first instance if they see an animal stuck or in distress.
“Firefighters love animals too and we are always happy to assist if our specialist equipment is required, as in this case.”
The Brigade was called at 1844 and the incident was over for firefighters by 2003. Fire crews from Chiswick and Paddington fire stations attended the scene.
