Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a cinema and arts centre on Chamberlayne Road in Kensal Green.

Part of the reception and bar area of the building were damaged by the fire and the rest of the building was damaged by smoke. There were no reported injuries.

The fire is believed to be accidental. The Brigade’s Fire Investigation team found that a fault in a drinks fridge in the bar area within the cinema kiosk caused the blaze.

Leading Firefighter Carl Hursthouse, who was at the scene, said: “On arrival, arrival firefighters found heavy smoke issuing from around the main entrance doors.”

The Brigade was called at 0101 and the fire was under control by 0154. Fire crews from Willesden, North Kensington and West Hampstead fire stations attended the scene.
