Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire on the balcony of a flat on Wick Road in Hackney.
Half of a fourth floor balcony and part of the front of the building were damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1818 and the fire was under control by 2018. Fire crews from Homerton, Leyton, Bethnal Green and Shoreditch fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental.
