Firefighters rescued a man from a second floor flat following a fire on Parsons Mead in Croydon.
Part of a flat on the second floor of a three-storey building was damaged by the fire.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued one man from the affected flat. He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0003 and the fire was under control by 0057. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Croydon and Norbury fire stations were at the scene.
