Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house and a workshop on Bowes Road in Southgate.
Part of a single-storey building used as a commercial workshop was damaged by fire. Part of the ground floor and the external fascia of an adjoining end-of-terrace house was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
Sub Officer Tom Harris, who was at the scene, said: “Crews arrived to find a section of a workshop alight. Flames were coming out from the door and the window of the property.
“The fire spread to an adjoining house, causing a small amount of damage.
“Everyone inside both premises were out of the building before crews arrived.”
The Brigade was called at 0419 and the fire was under control by 0558. Fire crews from Southgate, Hornsey and Finchley fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
